SWITCH Africa Green Launches Ethiopia Programme – GEM Presentation

Greening Ethiopian Manufacturing (GEM) project coordinator, project partner Precise Consult International and three GEM Clusters (2 Textile, 4 Leather & one Handicraft) have participated & displayed their Green Products on the Launching of SWITCH Africa Green Programme (in Ethiopia) and Sustainable Consumption and Production Manual for School Environmental Clubs Workshop, held on August 28 & 29, 2019, Addis Ababa-Sky Light Hotel. The workshop is jointly organized by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and funded by the European Union.

Greening Ethiopian Manufacturing (GEM) project coordinator, Mr. Heyeru Hussien presented the objectives GEM project and the project progress to date. During the discussion session the participants have raised questions and comments accordingly Mr. Heyeru reacted. At the Health Break Mr. Heyeru Hussien has also briefed two new reporters the aim of GEM project and on the clusters and their products.

The workshop is being attended by National Technical Coordination Committee; SWITCH Africa Green grantees, various government entities, regulatory authorities, private sector, financial institutions, UN agencies, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, research and academic institutions, civil society representatives and stakeholders involved in green economy and SCP practices in the country.
